Teams
Collaborate with your team by sharing endpoints, viewing shared request history, and managing roles.
Teams let multiple developers share endpoints, request history, and HMAC config without sharing a login. Required when more than one person is on-call for webhook integrations or when you need RBAC for compliance.
Creating a Team
- Click Teams in the navigation menu
- Click Create Team and name it (e.g., "Acme Engineering")
- Your account becomes the team owner — billing and member management roll up to you
Each user can belong to multiple teams; switch between them from the team selector in the header.
Inviting Members
From the team detail page:
- Click Invite Member
- Enter their email and pick a role (defaults to Member)
- They receive a one-click invite link valid for 7 days
- If they don't have a HookSense account, they create one at the link; otherwise they're added immediately
Roles
| Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything — billing, plan changes, deleting the team. Each team has exactly one owner; transfer with Make Owner on a member's row. |
| Admin | Invite/remove members, manage all endpoints, configure HMAC and custom domains. Cannot change billing. |
| Member | Create endpoints in the team, view all team endpoints, replay requests, configure their own endpoints. |
| Viewer | Read-only — sees captured requests but can't replay, configure, or create. Useful for support staff or auditors. |
Endpoint Ownership
An endpoint belongs to either a personal account or a team — not both. Move an endpoint to a team from its Settings panel; this is one-way unless you're the original creator (which can move it back). Quotas (requests/day, retention) follow the team's plan, not the individual member's.
Managing Members
Owners and Admins can:
- Change a member's role (e.g., promote Member → Admin)
- Remove a member — they lose access to team endpoints immediately, personal endpoints unaffected
- Resend or revoke pending invite links
